Once you’ve decided to take the next step, MYA will help you through from beginning to end.

Step One: FREE and Discreet Consultation

The first step is for MYA to arrange a free and discreet consultation for you with one of our highly trained patient co-ordinators. 

What does a consultation involve? 

Having one of our free consultations is a great opportunity for you to ask all the questions you may have about a particular procedure. Our patient co-ordinators are fully trained and will listen to your thoughts, discuss procedures and can often explain firsthand what the experience is really like.

Step Two: Meeting the Surgeon 

Next you will have the opportunity to have a full medical consultation with one of our surgeons. They will be able to speak to you in much more depth about your expectations and help decide what is right for you. This initial consultation is also free and is a great opportunity for you to ask any additional questions you may have. If you decide to proceed then it is this surgeon that will operate on you and be part of the aftercare process.

Step Three: The Pre-Op

If surgery is the right option, you will then have a pre-operative nursing assessment with a registered nurse. They will be able to explain what will happen on the day of surgery and everything you can expect afterwards. They will ensure that you are fit and healthy.

Step Four: The Day of Surgery

On the day of your surgery, the surgeon and anaesthetist will talk you through the procedure and all of the information again. You will probably need an overnight stay so we can keep a close eye on your recovery and your surgeon will visit you again to check on your progress.

Step Five: After Surgery

After surgery, we would like to reassure you that we are here for you. You are not alone.  A series of follow up appointments will be scheduled with a registered nurse and your dedicated surgeon to ensure that the surgery has been a success and to make sure everything is proceeding as it should. Plus, we are also on hand 24 hours a day through our medical helpline to answer any queries you may have.
