YOUR QUESTION...
Can I have a chin implant if I have an underbite?
BACKGROUND...

Hi,
I have read lots of info on the web about implants and I think I will go for it however, I read about a guy who had an underbite and was told he could not have an implant! I also have a slight underbite! does that mean I would not be suitable also?

OUR EXPERT ANSWER...

Hi David, In answer to question 1 I imagine the guy you are talking about had quite an obvious underbite and putting an implant in would make the imperfection look more obvious. The only way you will find out if you are suitable is to see a surgeon. Regarding the screws, Implants are not screwd in. They are either firm silicone or gortex. Usually bruising and swelling causes the numbness but once this has settled the feeling will come back. It is very very unusual not to get the feeling back.
