Hi I’m very interested in getting rhinoplasty done on my nose but the only problem is that I don’t being under general anaesthetic, and that's what is putting me off having the surgery done on me. However I was researching the rhinoplasty procedure and I noticed that most of the plastic surgery websites said that a local anaesthetic can be done, on some rhinpoplasty procedures if the patient is only getting the tip of his nose done, but I want my whole nose corrected and a bump to be taken out of my nose. So I was just wondering if this could be done by local anaesthetic and if being under general anaesthetic can be avoided? As I would probably get the rhinoplasty surgery if I could have it done that way. Thank you!
Hi Jon, We do not encourage this as it can be stressfull and very uncomfortable for you. You would need to have a consultation with a surgeon. Anaesthesia is very safe today. It is simply like going to sleep with a specialist keeping an eye on you! At MYA this is consultation is free. Call 08000 14 10 14 to book in. MYA
