Liposuction - given me more confidence than I have ever had!

After years of dieting and putting the weight back on, I was left with unpleasant fatty deposits around my stomach and love-handle areas, making my tummy appear saggy. I eventually managed to lose three stone and kept it off. My face was a lot slimmer and my health was greatly improved, but after years of gaining and losing weight, I really unhappy with my tummy. I would feel uncomfortable taking my clothes off in front of my partner and refused to go swimming or to the beach, where I knew I would need to take my top off and show my unsightly belly. I had tried exercise and further weight loss, but there was nothing that I could do to change the shape of my body. It was at this point I considered having cosmetic surgery. I decided for cost reasons and for the immediate results to opt for standard liposuction and embarked upon the procedure in the months before my 30th birthday. Since I started losing the weight the thought of surgery had always popped into my mind, however after researching, I noticed most major Cosmetic Surgery companies catered for male surgeries, the only information on line was what surgery and the contact details. When I found the MYA website I was very impressed, the site was completely different, even asking for honest patient stories on their forum pages. The information I gained from just reading other people stories gave me the courage to call MYA and arrange a consultation. The consultation was very information and non judgmental. Jane, the lady who conducted the consultation was fantastic, listening to what I wanted and why. She told me realistic healing times, results and costs. I was my intention on just gaining more information, but in the first consultation I found myself signing on the dotted line. I explained that I was going to Las Vegas for my birthday and they did everything they could to make sure I had the surgery and enough time to heal before I left. Every member of the MYA team were fantastic, answering any questions I had, putting me at ease and making sure that I was kept informed at all time. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and if any of my friends are planning any surgery, I will certainly be directing them to MYA. I went in for the procedure on April 13th, weighing in at 11st 5lbs and measuring 37 inches around the largest part of my abdomen. The skin was loose and there were round pockets of fat on my back. After a few weeks post surgery, the compression garment that I wore seemed to be looser than it started with, and I mentioned this during my check-up with the nurse. She advised me that it wasn’t the garment stretching, as it isn’t capable of stretching at all. It was the fact that the swelling was reducing and because my body had slimmed down the garment was no longer as restrictive. When I finally removed it and the wounds had fully healed, I was amazed at my new body. I now weigh in at 10st 12lbs, and measure much firmer 33 inches around my abdomen, with no more love handles or unsightly lumps of fat under the skin. I still have a final few weeks of healing, but I am almost there, and I am sure there will be further shrinkage, especially as I now have started attending the gym (which I have never done before due to lack of confidence) to tighten up the muscles around the waist area, and also to keep the weight off. I still can’t believe the amazing results I obtained, I sometimes put a measuring tape around my stomach and hold it at my old stomach size, which I can now step into, and step out of quite easily as there are several inches to spare! My confidence has never been better, I am doing things and going places I have never been before. My 30th birthday in Las Vegas was the best I’ve ever had, thanks mainly to my new physique and the confidence it gave me. I even enjoy looking through the photos, which is something I have never experienced before, as I was usually ashamed of my appearance in photographs.
