Liposuction

by Joanne Neary

I have always trained and ate healthy but there have always been stubborn areas which would not tone. I had saddle bags and footballers knees so after consultation I had surgery on 9th may. I was anxious but the team at London’s Highgate hospital were lovely and made me feel at ease. Before I went you have some lovely dart board drawings and killer disposable pants :). I remember chatting to the anaethatists and not having time to name favorite film, then waking up to a tube blowing warm air up my quilt :) my legs felt like lead weights and it took a while for me to get out of bed to use the toilet. I am a student nurse and will take that first walk experience into my practice as I had to maneuver with swollen bandaged legs, getting my stability was an experience in itself, and as for peeing that was another altogether :). I was prepared for post op such as swelling bruising and pain, but to be honest my main difficulty was using the toilet in a comfortable ladylike manner, forget it! It went out the window i had a couple of accidents and was peeing like a man ! and a tip if you have the procedure wear socks when using the toilet and then you can slide to a comfortable position the swelling, bruising and pain differ between person to person I have been fine but I have been realistic throughout, I hope this helps anyone thinking or about to undergo the procedure Joanne x
