Mr Adamo - 460 Overs
by Kerry Browne
Well I finally did it - had my op yesterday at Highgate with Mr Adamo!! Had 460 hp overs and am feeling a bit sore but ok at the minute - this is my story for any of you wanting to read it... Had my admission time of 10.30am confirmed - so decided to travel down to London the night before with my partner (stayed at the Comfort Inn Finchley) had a reasonably good nights sleep and woke up refreshed at 8.30 to have my last sip of water allowed before admission time! The morning went really fast - got to the hospital about 10.30 and had a nightmare trying to park (as there are parking restrictions out the front of the hospital and only about a dozen spaces in the car park - which were all full!) but eventually got parked and checked in at reception. Had to wait about 15 mins in reception till I was taken up to my room and told a nurse would be along shortly. She was and did my pre-op questions etc and gave me my gown and sexy support stockings and paper knickers to put on - and then the anesthetist came in to see me who was a lovely indian woman - put me at ease as to what was going to happen and then left telling me Mr Adamo would be along shortly. He came in beaming full of smiles and made me feel very relaxed - he did a couple of measurements and then drew the lines on me to show where the implants would sit etc and showed me in the mirror, explaining everything as he went along - he was very thorough and made me feel very confident that I had chosen the right surgeon!! He told me I would probably be second on the list so would be about an hour till I would be taken down. The nurse came to collect me and I went into the operating theatre at 12.40pm - Mr Adamo was again full of smiles and telling me not to look so serious and worried and that everything would be fine - so I relaxed a little! ;-) the anesthetist put the canula in my arm (which didnt really hurt like I thought it would) and gave me some oxygen and told me to relax and thats the last thing I remember! I woke up in recovery at 1.40pm to a beaming smile of a nurse called Faye - she was such a lovely woman - as soon as she smiled at me and asked if I was ok I burst into tears! not of sadness but think the whole thing had overwhelmed me and I just let it all out! she was lovely though and kept drying my eyes while I talked none stop about anything and everything! lol she took me back up to my room just before 2.00pm where my partner was waiting! All over and done with within just over an hour!! I was discharged from the hospital at about 7pm - after having a gorgeous 3 course dinner first ;-) we went back to the hotel and I just wanted to sleep! I didnt sleep too well - kept waking up every hour or so to go to the toilet - as I'd drank that much water that day (anesthetic makes you v thirsty!) I woke up at 5.30 in quite a bit of pain as my pain killers had worn off - so took some more and finally got back to sleep about 6am! V pillow is fantastic and dont think I'd have slept a wink without it! Am back home now and feeling pretty tired so am gonna try and rest as much as I can (well if thats possible with 2 young children!) ;-) Sorry to go on so much - got carried away when I started typing it! ;-) I had so much support from girls on here pre-op! Thanks Kerry xxxxx
