Hello. My question regarding a tummy tuck is: I had a caesarian 16 years ago and my baby was over 9lbs. I have a very fatty area (always did) on my lower abdomen with stretch marks, lovely eh! What hope do I have for a nice taught belly and will my muscles cope with being cut again? My scar is hardly visible and very low down so am hoping to be a good candidate for more cutting! Also, I suffer from bloating at times due to food intolerances. Will having tighter skin/muscles qive me a belly ache? Thanks
Hi Helen. Thanks for your question. It was a bit too complex for me to answer so I have asked one of our experts at MYA Cosmetic Surgery. She is on our pannel of experts and has lots of experience in this area. This is her reply. "First positive thing is you are obviously a good healer. Let me just give you some points regarding your questions. First of all with a tummy tuck you don’t cut through the muscles. A tummy tuck is just to correct the excess skin and fat. Your muscles, which will have been broken from carrying such a big baby, can be corrected at the same time as having the tummy tuck so creating a nice flat tummy. As far as your allergies and bloating are concerned, this is something that would need to be discussed with the surgeon at the consultation." I hope this helps. If you have any other questions just let me know. MYA
