News Image There is an increasing trend of young women having Botox injections to prevent the onset of ageing, it has been revealed.

According to a survey by Glamour magazine, nearly a third of British women have had the muscle-freezing treatment in a bid to delay any wrinkles.

"I’ve noticed a growing number of younger patients approaching ageing in an anticipatory way – meaning they want to prevent wrinkles rather than treat them," claimed Adam Searle, former president of the British Association for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

In addition, a study by the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors has claimed that the cosmetic surgery industry will pass the £1 billion mark this year, as Brits spend more and more on defying the signs of ageing.

According to the Glamour survey, a quarter of women in the UK are concerned about getting frown lines on their face.

The latest development in the cosmetic industry is the announcement by Botox manufacturer Allergan that it has finished clinical trials on a drug which has been proven to lengthen eyelashes.ADNFCR-1234-ID-18627979-ADNFCR
