News Image One US actress has revealed that she used her own stem cells to improve the results of her recent facelift.

Speaking on NBC’s KNBC channel, California Dreams actress Gail Ramsey said that she had become increasingly unhappy with what she saw when she looked in the mirror.

As a result, she decided a facelift might be a good idea. What’s more, the actress, who has also appeared in TV shows such as Matlock, told the station that she opted for a surgical procedure that involved her own stem cells.

It was carried out by US surgeon Dr Richard Ellenbogen, who has dubbed the procedure a "volumetric facelift".

He explained that he first obtained fat from parts of Ramsey’s body that had a "very high concentration of stem cells".

These were then injected into the cheek and lip area, and around the jaw line.

The doctor explained to the TV channel: "We’re using the reparative qualities of the stem cell that’s in the fat to not only boost out her face and give her back the shape of someone ten to 15 years younger, but it’ll also make the quality of her skin better and remove a good percentage of the wrinkles."

Ramsey herself added: "The goal is to have a little more fat in the cheeks, which we sometimes tend to lose as we progress. I like the fact that I have my cheeks back."ADNFCR-1234-ID-18692125-ADNFCR
