Using the latest techniques and skill surgeons are able to achieve "natural-looking results" from their eyelid surgery or Blepharoplasty.
That is according to New Jersey plastic surgeon, Dr Paul Parker, who has said he is aiming for a natural look rather than an operated on effect.
Dr Parker explained that he aims to "debulk the heaviness of the upper lid and simulate youth" when performing an upper lid Blepharoplasty.
Commenting on the importance of achieving a natural look, Dr Parker explained: "With any aesthetic surgery we strive for an "unoperated" look – but with eyes it is essential to err on the side of conservatism. The eye is a finite structure where millimeters matter."
He added that it is important that his patients have realistic expectations of their procedure to ensure that "everyone is on the same page".
In order to achieve this, Dr Parker said he not only has consultations with his patients, but also asks people to "review ‘imaged’ pictures of what [he] believes the patient will look like after surgery".
Blepharoplasty was the second most popular surgical procedure for men and women in 2008, according to figures released by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
