News Image Injectable treatments are fast becoming a popular low-cost alternative to a face lift, experts suggest.

As people’s budgets continue to feel the pinch, "liquid face lifts" are offering quick fixes to those looking for a fresher, wrinkle-free appearance.

Baltimore-based cosmetic surgeon, Dr Dean Kane, commented: "Especially in today’s economy, many people feel that they need a bit of a ‘lift’ in their looks and their lives, but they want a flexible way to address just a few characteristics easily, quickly and cost-effectively."

The treatment option includes Botox injections as well as dermal fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm, to smooth out wrinkles and plump up ageing skin around the eyes, lips and cheeks.

"Botox is the starting point for many women because it can treat several problems at once," Dr Kane added.

In 2008, the number of face/neck lift procedures performed in the UK increased by 1.7 per cent compared to the previous year, according to the latest figures from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.ADNFCR-1234-ID-19100303-ADNFCR
