Angie Best has claimed that she had a facelift to "enhance" her natural looks, rather than completely change them.
The first wife of the late footballer George Best had a facelift at the age of 44 but told the Irish Independent: "I didn’t need it."
"We didn’t look to change the way I looked," said the 54-year-old. "We just looked to enhance it."
"If you try to change the way you look, it will never work," she added. "If you try to enhance the way you look, it will work."
Ms Best explained that cosmetic surgery should only be for people who want to remove fine lines and wrinkles, rather than people who are seeking a completely new nose, face or forehead.
She previously told the Belfast Telegraph that her new booklet containing pre and post-cosmetic surgery advice includes a recommendation to eat spinach.
Ms Best is currently working on a television makeover show entitled You’re Not the Man I Married.
