News Image Though he may have succeeded in fighting the signs of ageing, Australian actor Robert Rabiah Gharios has paid the price for trying to get cosmetic surgery without paying for it.

The 35-year-old, who is a household name Down Under through his role as a gangster in the popular TV series ‘Underbelly’ opted to have a cosmetic boost in order to look his best for an interview in Hollywood back in the spring of 2008.

Indeed, staff reported that he told them that money was "no object" and that he wanted to look "fresh" and youthful for his upcoming meeting.

However, while the star benefitted from Botox and other filler treatments at the clinic in the town of Gleelong, he failed to pay for the treatment and even went as far as giving staff a false name, address and date of birth when his credit card was declined.

According to a report in the Herald Sun newspaper, Gharios has been charged for the offence and fined around £1500 by a local magistrates’ court, though the judge presiding over the case acknowledged that the actor did not go to the cosmetic surgery with the intention of not paying.

News of the court case comes as dozens of top-name actors and actresses are expected to turn to cosmetic surgery before they appear before the world’s media at this week’s Oscars.ADNFCR-1234-ID-19040801-ADNFCR
