An Australian politician has opted for some ambitious cosmetic surgery in an effort to improve her confidence in the debating chamber.
While a number of top politicians have made public their love of cosmetic surgery in the past, none have quite gone to the lengths of Logan City councillor Hanjal Ban, who has had her legs stretched by eight centimetres.
The 31-year-old had the work at a special clinic in Russia, with surgeons breaking her legs in four places and then stretching them by just one millimetre a day for nine months, according to the Times.
Explaining the reasons for her opting for the surgery, Ms Ban told the newspaper: "A lot of young females have insecurities about their weight or their nose, mine was my height."
What’s more, she may not be done with cosmetic surgery, suggesting that she may look to have more work done in the future, particularly in order to combat the signs of ageing.
Over recent years, Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi, who has recently attracted criticism for elevating a team of ‘babes’ to top political positions, has been open about his fondness of Botox.
