Australian demand for cosmetic surgery is higher than ever, according to reports.
The Australian Daily Telegraph claims that the most-requested procedures this month were liposuction and breast enlargement.
Dr Anoop Rastogi said that he had to cut his holidays short to keep up with the increased demand, starting work 11 days early.
He claimed inquiries rose by 20 per cent on last year and procedures by ten per cent.
"In the past cosmetic surgery was more of a taboo but now people are seeing it as a positive new year’s resolution," he remarked.
A spokesperson for the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons told the newspaper that people want to feel good about themselves in swimwear as they enjoy the southern continent’s summer season.
