News Image All of us want to make a good first impression when we go on a date but it seems that we can improve our chances by getting cosmetic surgery.

New research suggests that people are influenced by facial appearance when they first meet someone and that this is improved by cosmetic surgery.

The study involved taking photos of volunteers before and after they had Botox treatment. A separate group then observed these pictures and rated the subject on various factors.

Those people who had received injections improved first impression scores for scales of dating success, attractiveness and athletic success.

The research was presented at this year’s American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Foundation Annual Meeting.

Last week, new guidelines from the General Medical Council stated that GPs should only prescribe Botox to named patients.

It is hoped that this will reduce the trend of so-called Botox parties which see groups of women invite an often unqualified person to inject them with the treatment. ADNFCR-1234-ID-18795358-ADNFCR
