News Image There is an increasing trend of people seeking cosmetic surgery before their wedding, it has been claimed.

Dr Douglas Gervais of Minneapolis Plastic Surgery told the Minn Post that younger brides often request body surgery such as breast augmentation or liposuction, whereas older women are more likely to have an eyelift or other facial procedures.

"If you’re the bride, you’re the centre of attention, you’re under the microscope and you might want certain things done," he explained.

However, the newspaper also stated that it is not just brides who are getting cosmetic surgery before weddings.

It claimed that both grooms and mothers of the happy couple often want to improve their appearance prior to the important day.

One mother of the bride told the publication that she had a lower-lid blepharoplasty operation so that her eyes looked a little brighter for the wedding photographs.

Reported by the Press Association, a survey by Wedding magazine found that the number of women considering cosmetic surgery before their big day has doubled in two years.ADNFCR-1234-ID-18632644-ADNFCR
