As processes such as Botox become more commonplace, some women are opting for more extreme surgery to maintain a youthful face, one industry expert has said.
Dr Michael Zarrabi said that his Santa Monica surgery had seen a sharp rise in the number of ‘baby boomers’ coming in for facial enhancement procedures.
These can involve both chin and cheek surgery and are designed to make the patient’s face more symmetrical and therefore, more attractive.
In a statement, Dr Zarrabi explained: "Chin surgery helps to adjust the size and shape of a jawbone, while cheek implant surgery can give the face a ‘lift’ by inserting implants in key areas of face through small incisions.
"After the healing process is over, patients can look forward to a more vibrant, attractive and youthful appearance."
Recently, it was revealed that more and more men were opting for treatments such as Botox as they came to realise the importance of maintaining a youthful appearance.
