A poll of Chinese women has found that many are having facial realignment surgery in order to get more Caucasian appearances, it has been reported.

The China Daily found that 33 per cent of the facial cosmetic surgery patients it polled had undergone a procedure to make their face more oval.

And 29 per cent were said to have had a procedure to make their eyes look more western, according to the Horizon Research Consultancy Group.

The findings were reported in China’s Daily News, which described the rounded face as the "goose egg" look, an ideal in many Chinese eyes.

The Associated Press defines the Caucasian look as "leggy, skinny and busty" and says it is very popular with Chinese women.

Breast implants are also a popular option in a country which hosts more than one million cosmetic surgery procedures every year.ADNFCR-1234-ID-18293172-ADNFCR
