News Image The number of patients seeking cosmetic fillers and body contouring procedures is expected to rise significantly in 2009, experts forecast.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASPS), the recent growth and popularity of cosmetic fillers, such as Evolence, Juvederm and Restylane looks set to continue next year.

In addition, as obesity awareness increases, more people will be turning to cosmetic surgery after dramatic weight loss for treatments including lower body lifts, upper arm lifts and tummy tucks.

Figures show that last year, ASPS members performed almost ten million minimally-invasive cosmetic procedures.

Plastic surgeons in the US predict that a growing number of men will undergo surgery in 2009, carrying on the demand emerging among male patients since last year.

In February this year, ASPS reported that 57 per cent of men approve of cosmetic surgery, with one fifth claiming they would consider going under the knife to improve their appearance.ADNFCR-1234-ID-18944812-ADNFCR
