News Image Cosmetic surgery procedures for new mothers are worth every penny, it has been claimed.

Lorrie McClaren, a mother from Charlotte, Carolina, told local news provider WCNC.com that her complete mommy makeover was like a "rebirth".

She explained that after having twins even diet and exercise couldn’t correct the extra skin she had from pregnancy and that her breasts had changed.

"I had a full tummy tuck, breast lift as well and a little liposuction while they were in there," she said. "Even if you have to beg, borrow and steal, it’s worth every single penny."

Dr Felmont Eaves of Charlotte Plastic Surgery told the news source that loose skin, stretch marks and excess bulging are common side effects of pregnancy and that often exercise does not help.

For new mothers who are considering surgery, Dr Eaves recommended asking a number of questions during the initial consultation with a surgeon.

Vital questions to ask included what the recovery time will be, what scarring will be visible and whether there are any side effects or risks involved.

Research by Egg found that 0.2 per cent of new mothers have had cosmetic surgery and 0.3 per cent have had Botox.ADNFCR-1234-ID-18474275-ADNFCR
