Middle-aged women who are dating younger men are fuelling the demand for cosmetic surgery procedures, it has been claimed.
According to an article in the Sun, these females – who it dubbed ‘cougars’ – are the demographic exhibiting the most significant rises in demand for such operations.
Breast enlargements and lifts are among the most popular surgical requests among such people, it claimed, as well as tummy tucks.
The publication noted a few high-profile Hollywood stars who are dating younger men.
One of these is Kim Cattrall, who plays Samantha in Sex And The City and has been pictured out with a younger man.
Others include Ghost star Demi Moore and Madonna.
The Sun went on to note that females in the north-west of England are most likely to go under the knife, with Cheshire being a particular hotspot.
Some of those electing to have cosmetic surgery in the area are connected to the football players in teams such a Manchester United and Liverpool.
