News Image A cosmetic surgery specialist in the US has warned prospective breast enhancement patients to differentiate between the long-term cost and price of surgical procedures.

New Jersey-based surgeon Dr Paul Parker said: "If you go with the lowest price provider, you may put yourself at unnecessary risk for unexpected costs in the long term.

"Complication rates, extended recovery time, poor results and secondary corrective surgery are too high a price to pay for a ‘bargain.’ A surgeon offering a breast augmentation at a greatly discounted price should be viewed with skepticism."

Dr Parker explained that once the initial pocket is made in the breast for an implant, to re-make that pocket in a second revision procedure is increasingly difficult and so success first time round is paramount.

Figures show that despite tighter financial conditions and signs of recession, more Brits are requesting breast augmentation and enhancement surgeries.ADNFCR-1234-ID-18994238-ADNFCR
