New techniques in face lift surgery are making variations of the procedure attractive to younger recipients.
That is according to New York plastic surgery practice Profiles & Contours, which has noted that a younger demographic has become interested in updating their looks.
In the past older patients were the main recipients of a face lift, but now people in their 30s and 40s are turning to the surgeon to beat the effects of ageing, according to the clinic.
Director of the company, Dr Mark A Erlich said: "What we’re seeing right now is a dramatic move away from the idea that a face lift is only effective for older or middle-aged patients.
"Younger women and men are finding out about newer, smaller-scale procedures, and they are taking advantage of these options to achieve results that look very natural and appropriate."
One of the procedures that is gaining popularity stateside is the ‘S-lift’, which is designed to reduce the loose appearance of ageing skin and muscle. The procedure uses smaller incisions to minimize the down-time needed to undergo a procedure.
