Due to the fact that the stigma surrounding cosmetic surgery has now evaporated, more men are opting for face lifts.
That is according to plastic surgeon Dr Marco Faria Correa, who recently spoke to the Jakarta Post about the increasing number of male patients he is seeing.
He attributed the rise in popularity to a cultural change which means more men are now taking care of their appearance, whether with better hair stylists, skin specialists or surgeons.
Dr Correa told the newspaper: "With changing standards of aesthetic surgery for men and more liberal attitudes, we see an increase in the number of men opting for cosmetic surgery."
Further more, the renowned surgeon was keen to stress that surgery can increase confidence levels and help people remain youthful young looking.
"We live in a very competitive world and no matter how superficial this may sound – first impressions last," he added.
Last year liposuction was the most popular surgical cosmetic procedure in the US with 31,453 procedures being performed, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
