When it comes to non-invasive rejuvenation treatments, more surgeons are performing facial fat transfer procedures to create volume often loss through ageing.
Plumper, fuller looking skin is the desired effect of most face lift and facial surgery patients, experts suggest.
US-based surgeon, Dr Jacob Steiger explained: "Because it is such a precious facial commodity, I rarely remove fat when I perform lower eyelid surgery, instead using the substance to fill in the transition zone between the eye and the cheek."
He added that this technique reduces a hollowed look often associated with lower eyelid procedures.
Dr Steiger advised: "With all of the information that is readily available to those considering plastic surgery and the many choices of procedures that exist, it is important prospective patients truly understand what will work best for them."
Facial rejuvenation treatments have grown in demand following their appearance on popular make-over shows such as Ten Years Younger and Extreme Makeover.
