News Image Demand for cosmetic surgery procedures in India has hit an all-time high, with more and more people queuing up for facelifts, Botox and chemical peels, according to new reports.

While finances continue to be hit by the current economic slowdown, an increasing amount of people in the city of Mumbai are opting to invest in their appearance.

Commenting on the trend, one cosmetic surgery patient told The Times of India newspaper: "Beauty is priceless. In this competitive era, you need to look more presentable and younger than your age.

"The slowdown is a phase that will pass away soon, but looks are of utmost importance."

Already popular with Bollywood actors and actresses, cosmetic surgery has now become commonplace among everyday people, similar to the emergence of the industry in the UK.

As in London, the fast-paced city lifestyle of Mumbai means that patients demand attractive results in minimum time, making ‘lunch-hour’ procedures most popular.ADNFCR-1234-ID-18845454-ADNFCR
