News Image Breast reduction for men has soared in popularity in Scotland, according to a newspaper report.

The Scottish sun revealed that cosmetic surgery clinics in Scotland have seen an 80 per cent rise in the number of male patients.

Men are increasingly comfortable with going under the knife in order to improve their appearance and in fact their job prospects, according to the paper.

Furthermore, it revealed that private clinics are not the only ones performing plastic surgery for Scotsmen with over 350 breast surgeries taking place in Scottish NHS hospitals on boys as young as 16.

Breast reduction in men is often linked to a medical condition called Gynecomastia, which is an abnormal development of the mammary glands.

Plastic surgeon Rashmi Shetty recently disclosed that she has performed an increasing number of cosmetic procedures on men, largely due to the fact that male celebrities have made males more image conscious.
