News Image The fact that many professionals will turn to professional help in order to feel good about themselves during the hard times means the cosmetic surgery industry is almost ‘recession-proof’, it has been claimed.

Concurring with the findings of a number of recent studies into how the sector is faring in the wake of the global economic slowdown, the Dubai Congress on Anti-Aging and Aesthetic Medicine (DCAAAM) has reported a growth in the number of male professionals looking into procedures such as tummy tucks, liposuction and face lifts.

In addition, the group has also revealed that it expects demand for most procedures to carry on rising over the foreseeable future as many adults keep looking and feeling good at the top of their list of priorities.

Speaking to the website Maktoob Business, Maria Khatta, managing director of Aesthetica Clinic Dubai, explained: "In times of hardship and financial struggle, people want to boost their self confidence.

"Minimally invasive procedures are allowing people to gradually improve their appearance and their sense of well-being, while having full control over their budget."

This comes soon after Dr Marco Faria Correa told the Jakarta Post that the demand for face lifts among men is definitely on the rise.ADNFCR-1234-ID-19230732-ADNFCR
