Some 16 per cent of men believe their partner could do with cosmetic surgery, a poll has revealed.
Research conducted on behalf of Opera North found that nearly a third of men think it would rekindle their sex life, while 19 per cent would go as far as saying that surgery could save their marriage.
The most popular procedures men want their wives to have are liposuction on their tummy (37 per cent), legs (25 per cent) and a breast enlargement (22 per cent).
A spokesman for Opera North told the Telegraph: "It seems that a lot of men think their wives could do with surgery to enhance their looks but looking young and gorgeous isn’t the be all and end all to a marriage.
"Plastic surgery is so much more on people’s radars and the survey shows a lot of men do actually see it as a viable option to spruce up their wives."
Surgeons expect to see a rise in the number of husbands buying their other halves cosmetic surgery treatments for the festive season, reports suggest.
