A new poll reveals that 26 per cent of teenage girls would consider having plastic surgery.
In the survey, conducted by the BBC, more than a quarter of the respondents said that they are thinking of having a cosmetic procedure and nine out of ten of the girls polled were unhappy with their body.
The poll was conducted during research for a show called Boob job: My Big Decision which will be shown on BBC Three.
Kianna, a thirteen-year-old girl, told the BBC that she is going to travel to America when she is 16 so she can have plastic surgery.
She told the broadcaster: "The things I don’t like about my body are my breasts…I spend almost 100 per cent of my life thinking about it."
More than nine out of ten cosmetic surgery procedures carried out in 2008 by members of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons were on women.
