News Image A new cosmetic surgery technique can help reduce skin ageing, it has today been claimed.

The process involves taking small amounts of fat from the body and injecting into a patients face, reports the New Zealand Herald.

Dr Bahman Guyuron told the newspaper the technique has been modified, with cosmetic surgeons now using a thin syringe with a bevelled needle in order to avoid killing fat cells.

The fat is then injected into the face to add volume to the chosen area, the source states.

Benefits such as shorter operation times, higher success rates and fewer complications are available with the new technique, Dr Guyuron added.

The process will be explained in detail today by Dr Guyuron at the Australasian Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons conference, the newspaper adds.

Meanwhile, the latest statistics show an increasing demand for Botox as going under the knife to eradicate lines and wrinkles becomes more and more commonplace.ADNFCR-1234-ID-18745608-ADNFCR
