News Image Growing numbers of cosmetic surgery patients are opting to have non-invasive facelifts while they are still fully awake, it has been reported.

Coming as anti-ageing procedures become increasingly popular right across the globe, experts in the United States have revealed that many patients are now keen to have work done while under local anaesthetic.

Notably, demand for liposuction facelifts, which don’t require full anaesthetic, is now outstripping that for fully-invasive procedures, due to a combination of reasons.

Dallas-based surgeon Dr Mike Maris told WFAA: "I think this is a good procedure for chickens because if you’re afraid to go under anesthetics because of the risk, or if you’re afraid you’ll look too surgical when you get through, I think it’s an ideal procedure."

In addition, this trend has also been attributed to people having less disposable income to spend on aesthetics and a desire to minimise downtime from any cosmetic surgery.

Earlier this week, US sources reported that ‘Botox parties’ are booming among women across the Atlantic and could soon overtake Tupperware parties in the popularity stakes.ADNFCR-1234-ID-18897829-ADNFCR
