News Image Penny Smith of GMTV fame would "never say never about cosmetic surgery", she told the Daily Record.

The breakfast television presenter explained to the Glasgow newspaper that she worries that one day she will wake up and her whole face will have dropped.

Although she admitted to being scared of having an operation, the star, who turns 50 later this year, claimed that people who have had facelifts look great.

"So why not?" she said. "Life is terribly ageist. It’s ridiculous when you think of all that hard-earned experience going to waste. Television is just a mirror of society."

Penny recently told the Daily Mirror that she has fears of going under the knife due to the permanent aspect of surgery. However, she added that if she could foresee the end result, she would like the odd nip or tuck.

The television star has recently had her novel Coming Up Next published. It focuses on a fictional breakfast TV presenter who lives in fear of being replaced with a younger model.ADNFCR-1234-ID-18699564-ADNFCR
