Many people opting for ‘in-office’ branded cosmetic procedures are risking not getting their required results.
That is according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), which has spoken out against branded surgery.
Lifestyle Lift, Lunchtime Lift, Thread-Tox, and Smart-Lipo are among the ‘branded’ procedures’ that are gaining popularity in the US, but ASAPS is keen to stress the need for a skilled surgical consulatation.
Dr J Peter Rubin said: "In the wrong clinical setting, the results may not come close to the promises made in the advertising.
"What is really indispensible for the best results, however, is not a specific procedure but the judgment of a board certified plastic surgeon who can match the right patient with the best procedure for them."
The sentiment was echoed by plastic surgeon Dr Al Aly who said "A procedure is only as good as the hands that perform it."
Traditional cosmetic surgery involves a personal consultation with a surgeon to discuss the patient’s specific needs and requirements.
