News Image A significant proportion of men are comfortable with the idea of their partner having cosmetic surgery, a new study has found.

Highlighting how commonplace and acceptable treatments such as liposuction and breast enhancements now are, a study carried out in India – where women have previously been known to lie about cosmetic improvements to friends or family – found that 49 per cent of men would welcome a woman getting work.

Indeed, while many of those questioned said that natural looks are best, they also acknowledged the fact that some women are not blessed with great natural beauty and should therefore take advantage of the cosmetic treatments available.

One of the respondents to the DNA India study explained: "For me natural beauty means a lot but after the cosmetic surgery if the girl looks more sexy or cute I might get turned on."

These findings come on the back of a report in Indian newspaper The Hindu, which revealed that the country’s plastic surgery sector is booming, with as many as ten per cent of all procedures currently breast enhancement work.
