News Image A 17-year-old tennis star is set to have breast surgery to help improve her game.

Simona Halep from the Ukraine has told how she is planning to have breast reduction surgery in the autumn to help her mobility on the court.

The tennis ace’s 34DD breasts are slowing down her reactions during matches and she is said to be booked in to a private surgery this autumn to have the procedure.

Halep, who is only 5ft 5 inches tall, commented: "The breasts make me uncomfortable when I play."

However, her fledgling tennis career is not the only reason that the young sports star would consider surgery.

"I don’t like them in my everyday life either. I would have gone for surgery, too, if I hadn’t been a sportswoman," she explained.

Halep is considered a potential future senior champion after winning the Junior French open last year.

She is currently ranked 264 in the WTA rankings.
