People with excess fat in areas that are difficult to treat with traditional diet and exercise methods could benefit from ultrasonic liposuction, experts suggest.
The specialised procedure uses ultrasonic sound waves to help remove fat from areas such as the chin, neck, cheek, knees and calves.
However, patients with sagging skin or stretch marks are not recommended for the surgery as it requires the body to have good skin tone and elasticity.
According to plastic surgeon Dr John Millard, VASER Lipo Technology and fat transfer products can work together to create the ultimate body sculpting system.
"This is truly the next generation of body contouring, simplifying and eliminating," he adds.
Figures show that more than 70,000 liposuction procedures worldwide have been performed using the VASER system.
American actress Tara Reid has admitted to undergoing liposuction as well as having a number of breast surgeries, while former model Sophie Anderton is set to have the procedure for an upcoming TV show.
