Uma Thurman understands plastic surgery

Hollywood actress Uma Thurman has said she understands why many celebrities choose to have plastic surgery.

The 39-year-old star has not opted to go under the knife and said she does not yet feel the need to do so.

However, she said she appreciates the reasons why others have decided to have procedures such as face lifts and tummy tucks.

"I completely understand it and I don’t judge it," Thurman commented.

She said some actors and actresses feel that if they do not undergo cosmetic surgery, they would not be fully able to the job they "passionately love".

Thurman is perhaps best known for her leading roles in movies such as Kill Bill, Dangerous Liaisons and Pulp Fiction.

But only this week, one famous British actress suggested that the acting fraternity is obsessed with looks.

Former Cold Feet star Fay Ripley, 43, said this could prompt her to have a face lift at some point in the future, as she believes she is becoming increasingly wrinkly.
