There are many reasons why ladies are opting to have breast augmentation, it has been observed.
One plastic surgeon said women who go under the knife have various intentions, including reversing natural ageing because their breast tissue has lost its firmness.
He explained some females have breast augmentation once they have had children in a bid to increase the fullness of their breasts if they have suffered pregnancy-related weight loss.
According to the expert the procedure is "common" in the US and those who have breast augmentation often choose between saline-filled implants or silicone-gel implants.
These are then "placed behind each breast, underneath either breast tissue or the chest wall muscle by making incisions," he explained.
Last week, Sky News revealed Coleen Rooney told Hello! Magazine that she has not had a boob job, after pictures of the TV personality emerged showing her breasts looking bigger than usual.
Rooney revealed she looked fuller on top because she wore a halter neck bikini in the photographs and these offer more support than other swimwear garments.
