The Procedure
Calf implants are performed under general anaesthetic. A discrete incision is made behind the back of the knee where a soft silicone implant is placed in a pocket over existing calf muscles. The implant is held in place by your own muscle or a couple of stitches.
How long does it take?
Surgery can take 1 to 2 hours per calf depending on the procedure.
Is it right for me?
Sometimes, the rest of the leg can affect proportions, rather than your calf muscle. A surgeon will guide you through achieveable results. However, we recommend you try intensive muscular toning exercises to improve definition first. Any surgery is a big decision and we’ll provide all the details you need to make an informed choice.
What happens after surgery?
You should rest for the first few days. Then do lots of gentle walking. But no weightlifting, cycling or running for six weeks.
