It can take between 2 and 3 hours depending on the extent of the reduction. The cosmetic surgeon will reposition your nipple and areola to fit with your new breast shape and to give the breasts a more natural appearance.
You will need to spend one to two nights in hospital followed by a couple of weeks off work. Following breast reduction surgery, you will need to wear a supportive bra and refrain from too much physical activity for several weeks. The stitches will be removed after 7-14 days.
