• Why did you want the procedure?

  I have always wanted to have a breast augmentation for as long as I can remember to help build my confidence within myself and to get the body that I want.

• Why did you choose MYA?

  I chose MYA because I have little knowledge on any cosmetic surgeries around the UK, and had only really heard of MYA as they put themselves out there on social media/tv adverts to get recognition more.

  My friend also had breast augmentation done by MYA and I also knew someone else who was considering breast augmentation and MYA was their first choice.

• How was your consultation?

  I feel like my patient coordinator did not cover much in our consultation and I was oblivious to a lot of things that I needed to know.

  I feel like they should present you with a list of all the cc sizes that you can get, they should tell you about the different shaped implants for example tear drop, round, they should in form you about the different types of implant for example high profile, moderate.

  I was not told any of this information at all from my patient coordinator or my surgeon, I found these things out by looking at over patients stories and seeing them state these details and then me having to look into it myself.

  I also found that after I had paid I did not hear anything from my patient coordinator.

  I had to request to have a second pre op consultation with my surgeon as I did not feel like the first one was up to standards. I felt like my surgeon was very rushed within the consultation and didn’t treat me like he was going to do a life changing operation on me and needed to take him time and analysis everything.

  I also wasn’t given the chance to try on implants so had to delay my operation on the day to try on!

  My second consultation with my surgeon was much better however I feel like he said the opposite of what he was saying in the first consultation for example

  1st consultation: he suggested under the muscle implants

  2nd consultation: he agreed with me when I said I wanted over the muscle implants and he said yes I don’t like to touch the muscle

  Also on the day of my operation when my surgeon came to see me to write the markings on my body, he told me that one of my breasts was a little bit lower than the other and I was confused why this was not mentioned before.

• How was the day of your procedure?

  My admission time was 7:30 am, I went to my room which was fine as I had a room to myself for the day and had several people come in to speak to me.

  I should of had my operation around 10 am however because I had to request to try on the implants before this delayed the process and I had my operation around 12:30 pm.

  The day of the operation went very smoothly and I had a great nurse who took care of me until I could leave.

  I was told that the surgeons let the patients leave four hours after their operation but for me, Mr Marcellino only allows you to leave six hours after your operation. Which was fine but just made it a much longer day.

  I arrived at 7:30 am and didn’t leave until around 9 pm
