    Hey girls

I thought I would post my story so far (even though it’s only been 2 days since my op) because I’m not even kidding it is SUCH a rollercoaster of emotions that nobody can prepare you for!!

2 days ago I went into Preston and had a BA with mastopexy – I recently lost a load of weight meaning I had very very empty boobs. My surgeon (Dr Andrea Giannitrapani) advised me to go one of three sizes, 275, 300 or 325. Given I was having an uplift as well as implants I was advised to not go above 325 as the heavier you go the more chance of sagging in the future. So on the day I decided to go for 300cc’s just to be safe! Dr Andrea also said he didn’t know whether he was going to go under or over the muscle until I was in surgery. I have a very long chest so he needed to know what my muscle was like under there first!

After two hours in theatre I woke up and cried with happiness looking down at my new boobs – I was partially laid down and they were literally just sat there!!!! I had no bra on and no strapping just had my incisions covered (FYI Dr Andrea doesn’t use drains). But I was absolutely over the moon – there was no drooping, no falling under my arms, they were just pert!!!! I was beyond happy. I spoke to the nurse and she told me that Dr Andrea had decided to go over the muscle as my chest muscle was very prominent (I spend a lottttttttttt of time in the gym) meaning I would have been in excruciating pain if he had gone under the muscle. Plus there was enough tissue there for him to go over so there was no reason for him to go under. I was a bit gutted at first because I’d done a hell of a lot of research and wanted them to look as natural as possible so hoped that I could have them under. But, either way I was happy with my new boobs. I didn’t see them properly in a mirror as the nurse wanted to put my bra on pretty much straight away after I’d come round. I opted for a MYA bra after my op – just because I had no idea what size I’d be!

The time spent in hospital was absolutely fine – the nurses were beyond lovely and really do look after you. The first meal is heaven on earth – especially if your admission time is 8am as you won’t have eaten since the night before and by the time you’re ready to go down to theatre you’re ravenous, never mind when you eventually come round after the op!!! The evening spent in hospital wasn’t bad at all – I was given sleeping tablets and managed 5 hours sleep straight through. You are completely wiped out after the anaesthetic so you do tend to sleep a lot easier that first night – even if you are sat up! The next morning I was discharged around 7.30am with my antibiotics and painkillers. The drive home wasn’t great as I could feel every bump on the road – tip for the drive home, try and take two pillows with you to put either side of your arms. Your arms literally feel like led! If they are propped up it stops your boobies from hurting as much!

Once I was home I got myself set up in bed – V pillows are life, if you get nothing else just make sure you purchase one of those! After a few hours sleep I decided to have a wash (courtesy of mum) and I decided to have a sneak peak of my new babies in the mirror.

Now, I’m going to be honest my first reaction was ‘why didn’t I go bigger?!’ boob greed is a thing girls – it really, really is. We spend so much time on this forum before our ops looking at others and thinking how amazing they look. Then it comes round to ours and our first reaction is that they should be bigger or that they don’t look as good as others! It’s crazy…………
I was also really shocked at the gap I had between my boobs. Dr Andrea did tell me that I would never be able to get a ‘natural cleavage’ without wearing a bra just because my chest bone is very wide. I’m tall and broad (cheers for those tall genes dad!). But part of me thought omg, they look so wide apart do they even look like I’ve had them done?! Are they too small?! Are they going to get even smaller once the swelling has gone down?! Sooo many doubts crossed my mind.

I then had a quiet word with myself, and had some wise words said to me from my mamma. I decided to take a picture of them and compare them to what I had before. Jesusssssssssssss Christ. I couldn’t believe the difference. I’ve attached the picture for you to see. They look completely different! My long chest no longer goes on for 500 metres and my boobs are pert! So, when I saw the picture last night I picked myself up again and felt so much more confident……

Fast forward to this morning and I’ve spent the majority of the morning sobbing ffs!!!! I can’t even tell you why…the doubts are back and I’m thinking 1. They’re too small, 2. They’re going to get smaller 3. They’re not going to drop and fluff 4. They’re not going to come together in the middle 5. They look too fake etc. As well as the boobie doubts there’s also the fact I look 8 months pregnant. I can’t believe how bloated I am – I did read about it on here and spoke to a lot of girls about it – but it’s actually crazy how swollen my stomach is. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why I think my boobs look small, because my stomach is massive!!!!! I have googled it and apparently it does go down after few weeks…but ew. It’s awful. So be prepared for that one ladies! Also – back pain is an absolute biatch. I’m finding that as painful as my boobs when I wake up in a morning ha ha!

Sooo yes I’m currently on an absolute crazy emotional rollercoaster. One minute I’m fine the next minute I’m looking at girls boobies on here wishing mine looked like that! I know I still have a way to go…and they do need to settle but at the moment I’m so up and down!

I also have no idea how the end product is going to look – some girls are saying their boobs didn’t change at all when they had overs and no dropping/fluffing occurred, others are saying they changed loads? If anyone has had overs around my size (300cc) or just overs in general it would be amazing to see/hear what they are like!! I just want to know if they will change much or if they’re pretty much going to stay the same now?

I feel like I’ve just completely moaned/ranted on this message so I apologise in advance to anyone reading it!! I just wanted to put my side of the story across and let you all know about the rollercoaster of emotions that occur – I did read about the whole depression thing some girls go through post-op but I thought how can that be? You have new boobs what could possibly be depressing about it? I now know exactly what they went through!!!

So yes – that’s my essay for the day done! I’m going to stop being morbid now! Any comments very welcome as always 🙂 xx

Hi Vicky. You look great.I went to see Dr Giannitrapani but he said I needed un uplift in one breast and he refused to do it as I am diabetic and there is a risk of damage to the nippled. So now I have been to see another surgeon who has said I can have a BA or BA and nipple lifts. She also said I could have un uplift but I have decided against that. Now don’t know what to do.

Hi Vicky! Your before is very similar to mine, your after is amazing…what a difference! I’m getting 310 overs with a lift and I would be chuffed if they turn out like yours. Thanks for sharing your story xxx

Vicky they look soooo good! I’m so pleased for you. Thank you for your honest account! I’m having up and down days at the moment with 6 weeks to go until uplift and implants. Surgeon has told me 325-350cc and although the I want big I’m worried about them being too big and sagging again. I’m already measuring a DD before surgery. Xx

Oh babes sorry to hear you’re feeling that way. I think they look amazing and you are only 2 days post op!! Mine have changed so much in 18days. Sometimes I think they look and feel smaller but when I look at photos they have actually gotten and look bigger. Take lots of photos to compare your journey. Hope you feel better about it soon Hun. Remember the end result is going to be amazing, they already are looking perfect. Those surgeons know what they are doing! Xx

Aw thanks so much for your lovely comments girls! Means a lot it really does 🙂 and sorry for the late reply – I decided to come off here for a few days as I was just comparing myself to everyone else which was doing me no good at all! I’m still up and down but I’ve decided to just stop looking at them at the moment!! I know they’re going to change loads over the next few weeks so I need to stop being such a negative nelly!!!! I do wish I had gone bigger but then at the same time the biggest I was offered was 325 – and there is only a teaspoon of difference between 300 and 325 so would it have even shown?! Probably not….

Nicola I’m sorry to hear that – are you any further forward on deciding what to do next? xx

Lauren I really do recommend the MYA bras! Every girl is different and I wouldn’t ever say don’t go for a Macom or M&S bra but I find the MYA ones so comfortable. They are quite pricey – 2 for £59.95 but you’re wearing them constantly for 2 weeks, and then probably even longer depending on what your nurse says so I think it is worth it. Plus they’re really soft so they don’t rub on your dressings or anything 🙂 when is your surgery hun? xx

No worries at all Alexa – I found it really hard trying to find someone having similar to what I had so I’m glad sharing my story is helping others 🙂 I’ll keep doing update pictures too!! Good luck whenever it is you have your surgery lovely xx

Aw thank you Christie! Wow that’s not long until your surgery then – I remember when mine was 6 weeks to go and it absolutely flew by! You have such a decent size even before surgery so I’m sure with 325-350 implants you will be a really good size!! My surgeon really drilled it into me that I can’t go bigger than 325 as they would just sag in a few years time, which does make sense. Right now I wish I could be bigger but I think in a few years I’ll be so glad I went for the smaller size. I’m still yet to have babies so I don’t want them sagging! What size are you ideally wanting to be after surgery? xx

Thank you Jessica!! Your positivity always makes me feel better! See everyone says about the drop and fluff stage but then I’ve read that overs don’t really drop and fluff! How are yours doing now? Are you back to your normal activities, going out etc.? I definitely will keep taking photos. The next time I’ll see them will be Tuesday which will be one week post op when I get my dressings changed 🙂 definitely the end result will be worth it!!! xx

    Hi vicky
Firstly they look amazing. Secondly I’m also 3 days post op and omg I’m experiencing pretty much the same as you have explained. Everything was ok till I got home which is when I think it hits you. Mine are sitting reall high atm and I have to wear a strap but I woke up last night to looking 5 months pregnant and my thighs seem to have gained inches. My boobs really aren’t what I was expecting but I’m told to be patient and even looking at other ladies progression I know is True. I’m just going to try and be patient and see 2hat I’m left with in 6 weeks or so….for now I just need to recover c

Iv just got home from Preston after having uplift & 350cc overs and I am so happy with the result (although I have thought I don’t want them to get smaller!) *slight boob greed already* how long did it take you to recover?
