6wpo and underwired bras?

Am i right in thinking that although you can get measured at 6weeks, you’re still not allowed to wear an underwired bra? Or have i completely made this up and you can go into normal bras? x

From what I’ve been made aware, it’s advised you do not wear a push up bra following your 6 weeks. Wearing a wire is fine, but I think the general idea is that you don’t wear them 24/7.
I’m just excited to get out of these sports bras!!!! Xx

Thanks Laura! I don’t think I’d go near a push up bra, my boobs are high enough as it is haha. But yeah wasn’t sure if underwire was a yes or a no at 6 weeks. I’ve read on some bits since I posted this than some nurses will say bras are okay but no underwire until your 12weeks and you see your surgeon?
I’ll just wait and see. Even if it’s for some non wired tshirt bras! Anything other than sports bras! Ha xx

Hi Hun, my nurse said no underwired bras till 12WPO! Push up for a lot longer I’m 10WPO this week and still not wearing underwired bras xxxx

I didn’t go with Mya but ive been told I can’t wear any underwire bras at all untill 6 months!!!! :'( which seems sooo long but apparently it’s because the wire can affect where the implant sits or something like that…

Wonder why my surgeon says 6 when may only says 3 though…

After reading that a few times I did think I wouldn’t be able to wear underwired until 12w.
Tbh the idea right now of wearing underwired makes me cringe a bit cos I don’t think it wouldn’t be comfortable, I think it will just irritate it.
Who knew I’d be so excited for a non wired tshirt bra ay! Haha

Strange as I had my 6WPO on Tuesday and was given the all clear to wear underwired bra, no push up bras as this can move the implant so avoid those for a while.

i think every nurse may give different advice based on your surgeon maybe and also what yuor scars are looking like maybe? Ive noticed some nurses have done things differently to people on post op appointments from what they said on here, so i think they maybe follow the surgeons preferences x
