Hey girls, I’m 5 days post up and have been wearing the mya post op bra but where I’m extremely bloated and completely ballooned out due to all the medication, I cannot deal with how uncomfortable and tight it is. It is literally leaving marks on my back where it’s so tight. My stomach is so hard and swollen, the bra is making it so uncomfortable. I have the Asda post op bra but just worried it’s not supporting me enough…. ??

Have u tried loosing the straps and back of the mya bra Hun I had the mya bra and it was the same for me for first couple of days but it’s the most comfortable thing ever at the min lol I’m not sure on the asda post op bra with being so early in recovery I asked my nurse about the m&s post op bras and she said there might not be enough support in them and to stick with my mya one maybe it’s the same for the asda post op pnes xx

@staceymlx Hey, thanks for replying! It’s literally on the last strap! Cant loosen it anymore! It was comfortable for the first 2 days but once I started bloating out and where I’m retaining loads of water it’s become so uncomfortable to wear to the point of leaving marks on my back! I can’t sit up straight as it’s digging right in my belly. It’s making me feel sick! Atm I have 2 of the Asda bras on.. still got 2 days of taking the antibiotics etc so my bloating is only gonna get worse xx

It’s awful the bloatiness ain’t it doesn’t last forever tho id say any support must be better than nothing until the bloatiness goes down xxx

I bought the Asda bras because the Mya one was doing the exact same to me I felt like I couldn’t breath! But the Asda ones didn’t support me enough I wore them for a few days but then got the M&S sports bra and the nurse said it was fine to wear because it was so supportive but also so comfy. I’m 2 weeks post op and I’m swapping now between the Mya one and the M&S one now the swellings gone down a bit. Btw the bloating was awful for me too! But finally went down after about 8 days xxxx

@hollypamelapalmer ahh it’s so frustrating isn’t it! I’ve literally got both the Asda bra on for double support but feels far too comfortable lol! I no once the bloating and water retention goes I’ll be able to fit back into the mya ones but not right now no way! I’ve literally gained so much water weight it’s ridiculous! Can’t wait for it to go so I can finally feel normal again lol! Thanks xxxx

I was exactly the same. The rib swelling and bloat and pain around my diaphragm under my ribs was horrendously painful. I undid the bottom 3 hooks for bed but after about 5 or 6 days I got some deflatine. Mine was definately trapped air as I didn’t stop burping for about an hour! It was the most painful bit of my entire surgery and I couldn’t eat as it felt like my food wasn’t going down. Mine completely went on day 8. I know it’s hard but hang in there! It will get better xx

@lolabelle328 I agree! This is definitely the worst part of the whole op! I thought my boobs would hurt, but this is 100 times worse! The mya bras cutting into me I can’t wear it again until my tummy goes down and the water weight goes! So I’ve got the Asda one on, I’ve got 2 of them on to make it more snug and supportive and it’s defo supportive enough which is good! Thanks for the reply! Xx
