    Hi everyone,
This is going to be a moaning post so please give me some advice.

Ive been for my first consultation and paid 1000 deposit so that i can pick my procedure date due to having a tight diary with work and prior commitments.
MYA seemed all to helpful and friendly to receive my 1000 deposit, but since then it has been a battle to get anything else organised with them. Im constantly texting and ringing with no luck. I have to see the nurse 5 weeks before the BA which is fine and finally i got told i can see (via text) Mt Traynor and the Nurse on the same day (9th of March). I did not receive an email confirmation and my contact has been off the last few days and today. So i have just rang up and were told that there was no available appointments for the 9th and they are not sure when they can fit me in. This is a disaster as i HAVE to see the nurse the week of the 9th of march and due to distance (1.5 hours away) we agreed all along that i would see Mr T and the nurse on the same day.

I just feel that now they have my 1000 they are not interested in getting this sorted or helping. They knew all along that my diary is tight. Why offer me the 9th of march for me to find out Mr T isn’t in that day a week later!!!.

Annoyed and sorry for the rant.

Hey.. Just wondering why you have to see them 5weeks before? I had a late space and didn’t see mine until 2 weeks before.. not sure if it works differently with me being a late space though. I also live a few hours away and I saw the surgeon and nurse on the same day as it’s much easier that way xx

they said i had to see the nurse 5 weeks before or they can’t do the surgery. SO basically they are lying to me about that too? Im so stressed as i have everything booked off work so does my partner to look after me for a few days. My PO seems to be constantly off when i ring and that she will ring me back. never does. They have promised to sort it tomorrow so we will see, otherwise I’m going to look else where and get my money back.
    Sorry for a moan

They say you have to stop the contraceptive pill 4 weeks before so I had to see my nurse 4 weeks before just so she could tell me that etc..
But I have the same problem with my PC, she’s always not in work or busy so I just asked to talk to another PC and they were fine with that, so if I was you just talk to another PC as they can book you appointments etc xx
I got messed around quite a bit after I paid a deposit but I just stuck at it and it’s all good now 🙂 xxx

Well I mean don’t take my word for it but I’ve read loads of girls seeing their nurse at a later stage than 5 weeks? Unless they have a valid reason for you specifically I don’t see why it needs to be that far ahead? I would jus keep on the case but hopefully they ring you tomorrow n sort everything out xx

I saw my nurse on Thursday and my op is 29th Feb, so less than 5 weeks. I’d contact them and ask for another PC who is more efficient! I’ve had a great experience with MYA with PC, nurse and surgeon which had continued even though they have all the money now.

    Hope things improve!

You don’t have to speak to your PC if you want to book your op . The other PC ‘s are all very good and know their job . My PC wasn’t available to take my call when I phoned , so I spoke to another friendly PC.

They told me I had to have my pre op 4 weeks before because I would have to have bloods done etc.. Then when I asked my pc have all my bloods come back yet and is everything ready for my op she was like yeah we get blood results back the next day… What lol. Anyways I think they prefer you to see a nurse 6-4 weeks before your op because they have to check you can come off medications either 4-2 weeks/smoking etc. Often people realise at pre ops they need supporting letters from your gp and that’s what does take time. So what I would do is call your gp and make sure your all set to go xx

I was meant to have my pre-op on the 2oth February, but the nurses diary got cancelled a week after booking.
So, my PC got back in touch and gave me 5th March for my pre-op, which is 3 weeks before my surgery date, (25th March), so it must be okay to have it less than 5 weeks before?

I had a tight schedule as well, I have a 7 month old baby and had to travel from Stoke to Manchester so requested my appointments to b on the same day, I met the surgeon mr T and had my pre op, all on the 4th of Feb, I then signed a form to say I wanted the op before the 2 week cooling off period, my op is next Tuesday, I think my coordinator Gemma has being amazing, your coordinator should be organising all of this for you as its there job, hope u get sorted xx
