Hi girls just want abit of advice
Apart from being dreadfully uncomfortable and very tight (feel like someone is sitting on my chest) I’m not in any pain unless I put too much pressure onto my incisions. The tablets prescribed to me just make me feel grotty unwell and constipated. Do you think I can just stop them? Or is it the painkillers keeping my pain at bay? I’m not sure I’m trying night nurse tonight for a full nights sleep but any recommendations would be appreciated especially in regards to the antibiotics. I’m 5 days post op with 400cc Hp partials x

I was like this!!! I stopped taking the codiene as that made me constipated I took Senna max strength and a drink off fibre gel and that resolved that issue. I also had to stop taking the anti biotics after 4 days as they feel so sick I actually threw up on Saturday night and the pain in my chest was horrific. Since I stop taking them Iv felt so much better and got my appetite back. The anti biotics are just precorcisonary they gave us anti biotics after the op and I took 4 days worth at home. Another girl on this site told me she was only prescribed 3 days worth x

Hey Lacey, I don’t think I’d advise stopping your antibiotics, a few days discomfort is better than the risk of infection as that can be really nasty ? I’d defo say stop the pain killers as soon as you feel able, especially codeine if you’re having that cos those can really upset your tummy and make you feel crappy! Paracetamol should be fine though and might take the edge off any pain that might appear ☺️ Xxx

The antibiotics made me sick. I called the nurse several times in the first week about it. She said as long as I wasn’t vomiting (or bowel issues) then I had to keep taking them. It took me a few days after finishing the course to feel better.

Eat lots of yoghurt to get the probiotics as the antibiotics strips good bacteria out of your stomach.

    Hope you feel better soon,

I had to stop them I was throwing up the pain was horrific whilst I was being sick and there’s no way I could have put up with that for another 3 days. I started to fell sick after 2 days put powered through cos I thought of the infection but then 2 days later I was actually throwing up X

I think its the codeine that makes most ppl bunged up and feel weird so maybe swop to just paraceamol. The antibiotics are revolting my actually tablets smell like dog food as soon as I pop it out its gross. I find taking them half way through a meal best they do make me queasy though for a bit after, had an uplift to though so not risking it and taking every last one. xx
