Bandages and steri strip help!

When did everybody have their bandages and steri strips removed?
I had my op just over 3 weeks ago, I had my first post op with the nurse a week later (2 weeks and 2 days ago) and she said I was healing great, my incisions were scabbed and she replaced my steri strips and put on fresh bandages. I had made an app to see her last week but had to cancel, I go on holiday tomorrow for a week and my bandages are literally just hanging by a tiny bit! Obviously I don’t want to mess with the steri strips but will my bandages be ok coming off? I know the incisions are ok, no weeping, bleeding or pain etc but I’m worried I’ll do damage!
At what point did you all have the bandages and steri strips completely removed?

I’m still pre op but I would presume the bandages are just there to avoid infection for the first week or so. If your going somewhere warm it’s probably best to go bandage free so the area doesn’t get too warm and damp. As long as they are healed closed and kept clean I would think you would be fine. Just call in the morning to check x

@liz I had mine removed on my 1 week check up but I’m aware of girls that have had them on for 2/3 weeks. Call the nurses up and get some advice if your going to remove them. Xx

I’m 3 weeks PO tomorow I still have steri strips and bandages on,nurse said my wounds have closed but not scabbed so I need keep them on, I don’t have my next app for another 10 days so still not allowed a shower, it’s killing me lol xx

My nurse changed mine at 1 week post op, then because l live nearly 4 hours away she said I could remove everything at 2 weeks myself and just send her pictures, that’s what I did,didn’t see her again until I was 6 weeks post op. X
