    Hi,

I am getting so confused about the post op bra situation!
I am under the impression from the pre op nurse and the macom website that when you buy your macom you get the same back size as you are now, im 32 so I’ve ordered a 32 under instruction! Although on here I am reading all different things?!

Also I just want to buy some others for after the op, incase I dont like the macom, do i just buy regular sports bras as surely they arnt enough support? I have looked at asda and m&s and there are post op bras, which look like normal bras, and then normal sports bras? its soooooooo confusing haha i dont want to waste a fortune xxxx

I think the High Impact Sports bras are the M&S sports bras that are recommended. Although I haven’t even had my pre-op yet… but that’s what I always see on here! Will follow this thread with interest x

if your going to buy sports bra’s as well as a macom make sure it’s a high impact one without underwire and either a zip/bra hook closures at the front so it’s easy for you to get in and out of it. Marks and Spencers do a really good one, I find it’s so much more comfier than my macom x

Keep to your normal back size in macom, they’re super stretchy. I went up a back size and once my swelling had gone down around a week post op I couldn’t wear them anymore! They were uncomfortably loose and just rubbed on my incisions xx

@sparklesparkler I’d wait until you’re around two weeks post op until you think about an M&S bra. Chances are if you guess what size you’ll need it’ll be wrong lol, wait until you’re comfortable enough to go into a store and try a few on 🙂 xx

I got the m&s ones , dr traynor said id be going up 3/4 sizes so I bought 4 , 2 in a dd and 2 in an E .
The E was the winner so I took the other 2 back so now I have one to wear whilst I wash the other xx

Are the post op bras in asda and Marks and spencer a no no? Does it have to be the sports bra?

@Kelly I ma going to ask Dr Kazzazi on Monday what to buy as my nurse said he doesn’t like Macom and just to buy 2 pack Asda post op bras it won’t matter for first week as we will have strapping let you know Monday no point wasting money xx

I am having a nightmare with the sports bra situation! Had my ba Sunday, the strapping has all been a nightmare and had actually all come off at the front, in between the breasts. I spoke to the nurse the day after and she told me to put my sports bra over the top, I now have 3 in different sizes and none of them fit me right, I brought a macom before I found out Dr kazzazi doesn’t like using them, and am considering putting it on now today because I’m worried my boobs are not getting the support they need, it’s all so confusing ?

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions!!
and Kat, i would just put the macom on theres obviously no reason other than difference of a opinion! they must be good for other surgeons to recommend them and its better than nothing xxxx

I’m currently 9 days post op and really struggling with bras – i wish i’d just bought a macom. I’ve got 3 asda ones, 34B, 34C & 34D. at my 7 day post op i got my strapping off and the nurse put me in the 34C and said once the swelling goes down i should need the 34B (i was mortified at the thought of a B) but now, 3 days later, it’s too small and i’m wearing the 34D!! the plan was to get a second one from asda but they have stopped selling the ones i got – so annoying. I ordered some online from M&S 32C & 32D (because i’m normally a 32 and i thought the swelling had gone down) but neither fit. it’s a real pain, my advice – just get a macom.
